The Essential Luscious Verde

Our inspiration today comes from our new Essentials catalog, which was shipped out to most people this past snowy Friday. The main invitation accents the fresh and playful look of the purple poppies. It's shown with an additional layer and Beet envelope liner. The look still has the white paper stock that many brides have been craving for their custom wedding invitations, but the die-cut purple poppies set the invitation apart and highlight the couple's personality. Purple is still definitely a hot color for spring and fall weddings, especially paired with our bright White Smooth and Kiwi green. Earthy elements like the Kiwi work fantastically well with the purple and white pairing.

The Color of Love

Color has always been at the core of Luscious Verde's design sensibility. No surprise there, given the fact that the "Verde" in our name reflects our co-founders' shared love of green (not to mention a working knowledge of Espanol). As crazy as we are for our colorful namesake, our relationship with green is definitely not exclusive. There's more than one tone out there that gets our blood boiling. A few of the hues we're currently crushing on are Marigold, Stone, and Jackman (make that two hues and a Hugh).

In keeping with our countdown to February (The Month of Love), we would like to know what colors have you smitten at the moment (or any single color, for you "monochromantics" out there). Were your favorite colors love at first sight, or was there a fair amount of wooing involved? Taking it a step further, has color ever played a role in your romantic relationships? And for you married folks out there, how was your wedding color scheme significant to you as a couple?

Love At First Sight?

Hey there, blog people! Proofreader/blogger/shaggy-haired, wannabe-beatnik Jim here with another installment in our Month of Love series. Today I'd like to depart from the "stuff we love" theme just a bit, because I need your opinion on something. Love at first sight -- is it real? People talk about it all the time, but really, is it possible to see someone and just know?

For my part, I'd have to say that it's a definite possibility. I'm single at the moment, but I can definitely think of a time when I saw someone across a room and was instantly certain that we had a connection. My relationship with her was the longest of my life so far. So did I really know something? Was it just a crush? I believe that our minds and souls are often more aware than we may consciously realize. And I totally believe that our instincts can be incredibly accurate. So I'd have to say that (at least on some level) I do believe in love at first sight.

What do you think? Anybody out there fall head-over-heels and stay together? Anyone out there think I'm full of it? Let's hear your story!
