The Color of Love

Color has always been at the core of Luscious Verde's design sensibility. No surprise there, given the fact that the "Verde" in our name reflects our co-founders' shared love of green (not to mention a working knowledge of Espanol). As crazy as we are for our colorful namesake, our relationship with green is definitely not exclusive. There's more than one tone out there that gets our blood boiling. A few of the hues we're currently crushing on are Marigold, Stone, and Jackman (make that two hues and a Hugh).

In keeping with our countdown to February (The Month of Love), we would like to know what colors have you smitten at the moment (or any single color, for you "monochromantics" out there). Were your favorite colors love at first sight, or was there a fair amount of wooing involved? Taking it a step further, has color ever played a role in your romantic relationships? And for you married folks out there, how was your wedding color scheme significant to you as a couple?

Love At First Sight?

Hey there, blog people! Proofreader/blogger/shaggy-haired, wannabe-beatnik Jim here with another installment in our Month of Love series. Today I'd like to depart from the "stuff we love" theme just a bit, because I need your opinion on something. Love at first sight -- is it real? People talk about it all the time, but really, is it possible to see someone and just know?

For my part, I'd have to say that it's a definite possibility. I'm single at the moment, but I can definitely think of a time when I saw someone across a room and was instantly certain that we had a connection. My relationship with her was the longest of my life so far. So did I really know something? Was it just a crush? I believe that our minds and souls are often more aware than we may consciously realize. And I totally believe that our instincts can be incredibly accurate. So I'd have to say that (at least on some level) I do believe in love at first sight.

What do you think? Anybody out there fall head-over-heels and stay together? Anyone out there think I'm full of it? Let's hear your story!

More Love for the Trendy Awards

Another thing we love are the Trendys, hosted each year by Stationery Trends Magazine. We were lucky enough last year to come in first place in both the Green and Baby Announcement categories. And we're happy to show a sneak peak of what we're submitting for this year's awards in the wedding category. Our head designer Jason came up with what you see above, and it was so awesomely stunning that we just had to brag about it now!

Last Date

In keeping with our countdown to February, the Month of Love, we'd like to take a different approach today. We all pretty much know what constitutes a good first date -- perfect setting, instant chemistry, a great drink (or four). But what's the absolute worst date you've been on? We know that everyone has a story, so we're gonna need to hear it. Blaze away in the Comment section about your rendezvous with Mr. or Ms. Wrong.

I Love Rock And Roll (Custom Invitations)

Hey there, people of the Internet! One of Luscious Verde's resident bachelors here, reminding you that the Month of Love isn't just for the smitten. Even if you're not seeing someone at the moment, I'll bet you remember that first butterflies-in-your-stomach, can't-finish-your-fish-sticks feeling you got when you saw your crush in the junior high cafeteria. Maybe you've been in relationships that weren't perfect, but were really meaningful. Maybe you're a hopeless romantic. Whatever your situation, you've gotta admit that being in love can be pretty cool.

Being single is just fine with me, but I am a total sap when it comes to love songs. So, for the next few weeks, I'm going to be sharing some of my favorites, some of my co-workers' favorites, and some of your favorites. Here's one that I really dig: Michael Franti and Spearhead's "Say Hey (I Love You)." Let us know what your favorite love song is!

Love Is In The Air

To kick off our countdown to February (The Month of Love), we're starting up a new feature on this here blog. It's pretty simple: we're going to tell you about things we love, and we'd love to hear you share things you love. Today's entry:

HOW DID YOU MEET?

It's sometimes cheesy, sometimes boring, but as Valentine's Day approaches, we're getting in the mood (ahem) for stories about how people met their significant other, be it husband, girlfriend, business partner, or favorite pet.

Me? Well, I actually met my boyfriend through an online dating site. Yep, that's the whole truth -- nothing glamorous. Just as I was about to delete my account I received a very casual and friendly message from a bearded vegetarian with an adorable Golden Retriever. Our first date was grabbing some Indian food and checking out a furniture show at an art gallery.

So how about you? How did you meet your main squeeze?

Love,

Lindsay @ L.V.
