The Meaning of Love

We are officially in love with our recently released new wedding album. After months of planning, designing, re-designing, naming and collaborating, we were finally ready to release a beautiful and sophisticated new line of Luscious Verde wedding invitations. Keeping true to our style of bold patterns, thick and colorful cardstock, custom die-cuts and unique typesetting, our new catalog reflects who we are as a boutique luxury stationery manufacturer. We hope you love our new line as much as we do!

What's Up, Dog?

One of the coolest things about our company is that we can create pretty much anything you'd like out of paper. My job, as head estimator, is to take various design ideas from our retail stores and see if they can be created in our shop. The hardest part is trying to take an amazing design idea and transfer it into the realm of paper. We've done everything from a swiveling peace-themed holiday card; a glass of whiskey with ice cubes; pretty much every skyline imaginable (other than Topeka); to custom watercolor paintings.

With the release of our 2011 Holiday Update, we've added an awesome section where we will hand-draw your dog! Our artists here will draw your pup, or pretty much anything else you'd like. Awesome, right? I'm honestly in awe of the talent we have here.

Truly Custom Design Challenge!

Are you ready to take your creativity to a new level? How can you distinguish your holiday cards from what is readily available, cheaply, on the Internet?

 

Luscious Verde is here to help. Your Luscious Verde stationery professional can provide you with a unique and truly personalized product. We know that wading through endless options can be confusing and scary. To help you navigate this uncharted territory, we have put together a new design guide to help you work through the wide variety of options available through Luscious Verde. Visit your retailer to view this design guide.

 

Use your design guide in conjunction with our holiday catalogs! For example, did you know that Luscious Verde has over 200 liner patterns? Did you know that we can change the size AND colors of each of these patterns to match your photos or holiday party invitation? Did you know that we can create a custom pattern just for you?!

In honor of our new design guide, we’re issuing a fun challenge for you, available through your local Luscious Verde retailer.

From now until December 24th, 2011, you can enter your Luscious Verde holiday card order into our first ever Truly Custom Design Challenge.

One winner, judged by your pals at Luscious Verde, will be selected to receive their holiday cards half off!

And then your order will be famous! Because we are going to talk about it a lot and feature it on lots of social media.

Winner will be announced the week of January 2, 2012. All entries must be willing to be featured on our blog and Facebook page.

Rules for submission:

• Note on your order form that you would like the order to be entered into our Truly Custom Design Challenge


• Applicable to holiday cards (including New Year’s cards) submitted 10/19/11 through 12/24/11 ONLY


• Card can be a photo or non-photo card or invitation


• Inspiration can be found in an existing LV design, but submission must be original in some meaningful way (changing a typestyle or paper color does not qualify). Qualification is 100 percent at the discretion of Luscious Verde


• If your order meets our qualification standards, you can choose the option to have a free color mock-up


• Cards will be judged based on the following:

Coloring Pages

We would officially like to welcome four new paper colors to the Luscious Verde family! Say hello to Ocean, Manila, Dusty Rose, and Aruba to our 100-plus paper choices. Aruba was added to the line-up to replace the sadly discontinued Teal. Manila is a great creamy tan color and looks great paired with our darker saturated colors like Road, Chocolate or Avocado. Ocean is an awesome deeper teal jewel tone, and Dusty Rose is a pinkish brown that looks great with our Patriot paper.

Brace for Lace

Despite the downpours that are flooding our streets, we are super excited that spring has finally arrived! Of course, the torment of the hard winter snow has quickly left our minds and has brought on the arrival of beautiful spring colors and the light, intricate patterns of lace. The open-work fabric has been around for centuries and usually pops up on the runways every decade or so.

This year, lace is extremely popular in all forms, from adornments on clothing to mimicking the intricate pattern on a piece of paper. Our Snow paper, which is textured white cardstock, resembles the look of lace. The falling circles die-cut adds another level of intricate craftsmanship and depth to the wedding invitation.  Now is the time to pull that lace skirt out of the depths of your closet and enjoy all of the spring flowers opening up!

Awards Season: Not Over Yet!

The Trendy Awards, given out yearly by Stationery Trends Magazine, are a way for retailers and consumers to recognize the very best in stationery. Luscious Verde is thrilled to be honored in four categories: Baby, Bridal, Green, and Holiday. Last year we took home two Trendy Awards in the Baby and Green categories. We need your help to keep our streak going! To vote for our entries, just go to their respective pages and scroll through until you find our images, and give 'em a big old Thumbs Up.

Our Baby entry is from our new Essentials catalog and features a super-sweet custom die-cut mobile, Bridal focuses on deep purple die-cut poppies on a two-layer white cardstock, and Holiday is a fun fold-over gray card with a custom-cut frame featuring a family's name and an inscription under the photo. Lastly, Green is one of our favorites and also from the Essentials line. The garden party motif replicates a watercolor produced on 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper.

The Essential Luscious Verde

Our inspiration today comes from our new Essentials catalog, which was shipped out to most people this past snowy Friday. The main invitation accents the fresh and playful look of the purple poppies. It's shown with an additional layer and Beet envelope liner. The look still has the white paper stock that many brides have been craving for their custom wedding invitations, but the die-cut purple poppies set the invitation apart and highlight the couple's personality. Purple is still definitely a hot color for spring and fall weddings, especially paired with our bright White Smooth and Kiwi green. Earthy elements like the Kiwi work fantastically well with the purple and white pairing.

More Love for the Trendy Awards

Another thing we love are the Trendys, hosted each year by Stationery Trends Magazine. We were lucky enough last year to come in first place in both the Green and Baby Announcement categories. And we're happy to show a sneak peak of what we're submitting for this year's awards in the wedding category. Our head designer Jason came up with what you see above, and it was so awesomely stunning that we just had to brag about it now!
